A Night of Music with Sofar Sounds

Sofar Sounds hosts secret stripped down concerts in intimate settings around the world. On Wednesday, people joined together for a night of music at The Yard's event space in the heart of the Flatiron.

On Wednesday night Sofar Sounds took over The Yard Flatiron North and hosted their first show at our spankin' new event space. Sofar Sounds was founded in 2009 by a trio of friends that believe music is most appreciated in intimate living room settings.

Now Sofar Sounds hosts private shows in cities across the globe. Attendees and their friends RSVP without knowing the venue or the lineup until the day of the event. Each night presents an outstanding mix of talented up-and-coming artists. It's always a good time with like-minded music lovers!

The lineup this week blew us away. We found ourselves falling in love, one act after another.

Oak & Ash

The night started with New York natives Oak & Ash who have managed to produce a perfect balance of nostalgic 90s pop and soul-driven rock n' roll. We can't wait to check out their full length album later this year.

Small Wonder

The name fits. Henry Crawford is a singer-songwriter whose vocals left everyone awe-struck. He played some mellow, lyrically intriguing (aka quirky) songs that kept everyone chuckling to themselves, and then he hit us with some phenomenal vocal range. (Henry, was that you?!)

Then Lawrence took the stage. Siblings Gracie & Clyde Lawrence warmed our hearts with stories of their family between tremendously soulful ballads accompanied by a six-piece band. Plus, they did an ah-mazing cover of "Say My Name". Let's just say the show ended on a BIG note.

Special thank you to Sofar Sounds for cultivating a magical music experience and bringing an incredible lineup of out-of-this-world musicians to The Yard!
